Notice of Proposed Action – BSMM – USEN – Renewal of RCRA Hazardous Waste Permit EPA ID# NVT330010000 Beatty, Nevada The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) is requesting public comment regarding renewal of the Resources Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Hazardous Waste Permit for the treatment, storage and disposal of Hazardous Waste at the USEN facility located south of Beatty, Nevada. Comments may be submitted to the NDEP during the 45-day public comment period that begins on February 2, 2026, and ends on March 20, 2026.

NDEP Wraps up Lead Testing in Nevada Schools

In recognition of National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week (October 20–26, 2025), Nevada is celebrating the successful effort to conduct lead testing programs in public schools, public charter schools, and licensed child care facilities across the state. These voluntary testing programs provided an opportunity to confirm that children in learning and care environments have access to safe drinking water and helped identify and address potential sources of lead exposure.
