Notice of Proposed Action – Hawthorne Army Depot – Class 2 Permit Mod

The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) is requesting public comment regarding the Class 2 Permit Modification to the RCRA Hazardous Waste permit at the HWAD – Main Base facility located in Hawthorne, Nevada. The Class 2 Permit Mod is to modify the current permit language to revise the words “munitions” to “U.S. Government controlled assets” and allow recycling and storage of U.S. government controlled assets and/or batteries.

Comments may be submitted to the NDEP during the 45-day public comment period that begins on April 17, 2026 and ends on June 01, 2026 at 5pm PDT.
