Exam Registration
CEM eligibility must be determined before being registered for a CEM Exam. Eligibility is determined by Certification Program staff through an application review process. If the applicant demonstrates his or her eligibility in accordance with state requirements, an email will be provided with an application acceptance letter and exam invoice.
Pay the $200 exam fee. Upon receipt of payment, staff will register you for the next available exam. An email will also be sent to the contact information provided on your application with a copy of your payment receipt and exam date, time, and location details. Note, the $200 exam fee is non-refundable.
Retaking an Exam or Rescheduling an Exam
If an exam is not passed, you will need to pay the exam fee again and register for another exam. This is done by logging into your Nevada Environmental Activities account. From the homepage, click the Certification tab, and select the Register for a CEM Exam button. Follow the prompts onscreen, print/download your invoice, and pay the $200 exam fee. Upon receipt of payment, you will be registered for the next available exam.
If you find yourself unable to attend an exam for which you are registered, contact the Certification Program. Staff can generally reschedule you for the next available exam without additional cost.
Note: The CEM exam must be passed within 2 years of your application submittal. Applicants who do not pass the exam within the 2-year period must complete a new CEM Application, submit the application fee, and go through the review process again before registering for the next exam.
