User Instructions: We suggest users read the fact sheet and the general permit listed below and related information to determine if your activity requires a Holding Tank General permit.

If you are subject to holding tank permitting requirements, please fill out the appropriate holding tank application in order to submit plans and seek approval to construct and operate a holding tank. When construction has taken place, you may seek coverage under the corresponding general holding tank permit by completing the corresponding Notice of Intent (NOI) form (see link below). Please fill out the appropriate form and mail it, along with all other pertinent information to NDEP at the address indicated.

Holding Tanks may only be approved for the following: limited duration events for construction projects (night watchman's trailer, contractors shack); or a holding tank under the control of a city or other legal entity approved for temporary use. Holding tanks may not be used to service a permanent dwelling, permanent structure or recreational vehicles (RV). Other uses may be considered on a site specific - case by case basis.

Construction and operation of both Temporary and Permanent Holding Tanks as defined by NRS 445A & NAC445A. This program includes the installation and operation of Holding Tanks in commercial properties along with inclusion under general temporary holding tank permits: GNEVTHT09 & GNEVPHT09 [See Below]

Annual Fee:

$200.00 - — for Permanent holding tanks

Continuation of Coverage — NDEP's general permits remain in effect until reissued (NAC 445A). Coverage obtained under the existing permits will continue under the reissued permits.
