TO SOLICIT COMMENTS ON PROPOSED REGULATION CHANGES
AND INFORMATIONAL PRESENTATIONS



The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) will be holding three workshops for information and regulation changes. The workshops are intended to collect public input and inform the public prior to presenting a formal report or petition to the State Environmental Commission (SEC). The workshops are scheduled as follows;

1. Petition 1999-06. This petition will remove the requirement to notify the Office of Emergency Management, under certain circumstances, of spills of hazardous materials.

2. MTBE guidance document. This will discuss how NDEP will manage the environmental impacts of the fuel additive MTBE. This will be for information and discussion only and is not subject to action by the SEC.

3. Petroleum Fund Policy Resolution. This will discuss proposed policy which would impose a 20% reduction in Petroleum Fund Reimbursement for cases where overfill or spill is a contributory cause of a petroleum discharge.
